Im thinking of removing the imron coating from my tb500 neck.anyone done this or has anyone some ideas.except telling me not to.

I used to strip anodized aluminum all the time with oven cleaner, then use polishing compound to make the aluminum shine like a mirror. I have a feeling that would work in this application as well (can't remember if the oven cleaner and anodized aluminum had some chemical reaction that made it work or if the oven cleaner was just so caustic that it stripped anything off aluminum without harming the aluminum...). If you try it, do it in an area that no one can see first. Neither of my beans have painted necks, but I'm assuming if you slide the neck out there's a part that's painted that you can test the oven cleaner on that doesn't show when the neck's in the body. Then again, maybe not... But you'd have to take the neck out anyway cause you probably don't want to risk getting oven cleaner on the body.
