Does anyone have any thoughts on the knobs? I know Beans as a rule came with the black coke bottle knobs, but there seems to be variations, particularly with finished colour Beans, where some have clear knobs and I have seen other guitars in the gallery, including natural finishes with clear knobs, like this one. My question is, is it a rule to live by that Beans came with the black knobs, and other knobs are non-original, or are there variations to this rule? The seller said he believes they are original.

My understanding is that there were three types of knobs - black plastic, clear plastic, and black metal "Sansui". It all depended upon what was available at the time of manufacture.
My Bean, 1000S #933, has clear colored knobs that I believe are original. I've certainly seen similar knobs pictured in the database.
The knobs on #457 on EBay appear more white than clear, but it could be the photos. Everything else appears original and it looks like it's in great condition.

Thanks for the info, yeah I have seen the same three types of knobs, you have answered my question in regard to the variety. I did think the same though, the knobs do look a little more white, but it may be the angle. It certainly is in nice shape, and everything else is original, so the knobs could be. Anyone else got any thoughts?
