My Dad helped me buy my Travis Bean TB1000S in Allentown, PA when I was a teenager. I remember it had a neat-looking dark streak in the poplar near the tone control/input jack area. I sold it in 1990 or so, because Pennsylvania temperature changes wreaked havoc on its tuning stability, and the super-flat neck and super-hot pickups seemed tiresome once I got used to playing a Strat.
