Hello all. First post for me. I've had several beans through the years including a white TB-1000 unfortunatley no longer with me. Seeing the prices for these things lately really made wish I had 'em back! I was lucky enough to score a TB 1000 at the dallas show this weekend. It was obvious that it had been stripped and refined in a lighter natural koa. After I got it home I took it apart and it's black everywhere except on the outside. Could this have been an actual black one or was this something Travis did on all Beans? Did someone get this yrs ago and not like the black and always wanted a natural one? I never took my white one apart so I have nothing to go on. Also, I'm sure everyone will want to know....$2500 with original blue lined hard case just like I've had all those yrs ago.......

Thanks, Chark

Also, is it possible to determine if it was a color by the serial # which is 108. Since it has been stripped already I'm going to send it to RS Guitarworks and have the either the right laquer or the {crossing my fingers!} original black. Thanks again, Chark

Sounds to me like it was originally black. Is it a 2 piece or a 1 piece body? What does the koa look like? Can you post photos? All the Beans I have seen are the same color inside and outside. By the way, Congrats!

OOOOPS I meant to ask whether it was a 2 piece or 3 piece body...I don't think any 1 piece bodies exist.

It's a really skinny neck! I don't have it in front of me right now but I would guess it's probably 1 1/2 at the nut. I believe it's a 2 piece body but the koa is not that figured, and lastly 2300 would be what the dealer sold it for. I was not personally in Dallas. I bought it sight unseen through a friend of mine who represents another dealer and had a booth at the show. He called to ask me if I was looking for anything in particular so I asked him to look for a Bean. Since he's using his bosses money there was a slight fee involved which he explained upfront. Fair enough since I didn't have to drive from Nashville!

Also, what are your feelings about the one on ebay right now? I had put in the first bid before that guy posted the "wood shop" photos! That WAS a nice artist at some point! People sure do strange things........

I appreciate the responses about the refin and I will assume it was originally black. I'll try and post some pics of it here soon before I take it to RS. Any other responses or info would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, Chark
