Hi Hank,

First I want to say that I get a lot of enjoyment out of this site and I hope you don't take this post as whining or worse. I'm grateful for all of the work you've done to make this site what it is today.

That said, it's really hard to use and I'm not sure why. Someone just responded to a thread that I'm watching/subscribed to and I got an email about it, but the link takes me to the front page despite having tons of GET-request gobledygook on it... I think that's true of a lot of "deep links" to this site... they re-direct back to the root URL and I don't understand why. I'd love to be able to send links directly to various things (including my own bean) on this site to friends, but instead have to give them complex "click on this and then that" instructions instead.

Also, why do registered users with multiple posts under their belts have to fill out a captcha? I don't know of any other site that does this.

Also, when I want to add something to a thread, I'm inevitably logged out, which is fine I guess but when I finish logging in, I have to find where I was again instead of having the forum software remember, which is kind of a drag.

I'm fluent in PHP and I'm happy to help make it better, but I also understand if you don't want to expose the source.

Thanks again for the great site and I hope these criticisms don't offend.

Gah, I just noticed that I *can* link to my own Bean, sorry for the bad report on that one.

Hello Sam

Thanks for writing, but some of these issues you've presented would be better sent as a email, since they are bugs.

- As you've seen, you can link to individual Beans in the database

- The redirect is a bug, and with better information besides 'it doesn't work' would be useful.. since obviously that is not the intent.

- The log out is another bug that I've not heard or experienced. You should maintain a logged in state unless there is a cookie issue involved here, again, a email to work this out is a preferred method.

Captcha issue is my preference. You've never seen this before.. but how many times have you've seen robots log in and post spam all day long on those forums? I might add a post count restriction here..

I'll send you a email with questions.

Thanks
