I have a TB2000.....I think. I bought this bass for $150 when I was in highschool, about 10 years ago. The previous owner decided to attempt to make a fretless out of it by removing and filling the frets. The pick-ups were practically dry rotted out so it sounded and played like crap. I had big plans at the time to restore it by putting in new pick-ups and having it re-freted...or having a new fretboard put on. The wiring looks clean and untinkered with. I was young and didn't realize what I had so I stuck it a closet because I didn't know where to start. At the time, finding info on Travis Bean's was next to impossible. I didn't even know who made the thing for a couple of years. Anyway, I'd like to track down some pickups for it. Until I can get ahold of some of the original pickups that where on this bass, I'd like to put in some after markets that would be comparable to TB pickups. I really know very little about this thing. I'm not even 100% sure on the body wood. I'd appreciate any and all tips, info, pointers etc.

Thanks
grant

It looks identical to the 2nd pic in the TB2000 photo gallery. (#0). Same finish, knobs, p/u's....identical.

im afraid that your literally only about a moth or two late from having had the opportunity to have bought some original bean bass pick ups - board member obe recently had a pair for sale. however, kevin at the electrical guitar company makes pick ups that would be good substitute for your pick ups. get in contact with him - the link to egc is on this very website.
