This is a nice Artist but you would have to be mad to pay $17,500 for it, Even if it is a rare model

That's what I thought initially, but it does have some unique prototype qualities. The T shape is very different from the production guitars, it has the early pickup covers, and that string harness is supposedly original. Sure makes for an odd headstock. It is a one of a kind TB, very early, very 'handmade'. I sure don't think that constitutes seventeen grand, but someone else might.
I personally cannot believe that the generally neglected and ****** up Artist on ebay (with the painted body) is already up over $800 USD with 3 days to go. I always thought something like that would be my dream budget TB, (especially with a nice 2000 recently selling for 15 hundred) but I'm betting it will go well over a grand. At least.
Anyway, I'm not too worried anymore. I have a kick ass ECG and another that's going to be made. Those guitars kill. I caught 2 of the Jesus Lizard shows last week and Dennison's incredible sound can attest to that.
