Interesting... TB1000A #1246 on eBay...again.
Same pics.. but the weird thing, is that it's listed twice and both have different locations and starting bids.
Starting bid: US $230.00 Fort Frances, ON, Canada http://cgi.ebay.com/Travi.....ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Starting bid: US $200.00 Montreal, QC, Canada http://cgi.ebay.com/Travi.....ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Both listings are for TB1000A #1246... spider sense is tinglin'. Could be a simple error, but definitely seems weird.

I notified ebay and included the links to not only these two guitars but the one that was hopefully the legitimate 1246 that sold back on 6-9-07. We'll see if ebay pulls the listings. I'd hate for someone to get ripped off...

My guess would be that this is actually a sale of the TB stolen in Montreal in early June (see General Discussion post by "Hnewman" entitled "stolen bean w/custom body.") I suspect the pictures of alleged #1246 and it's description are a front for the sale of the stolen Bean. Note that the sellers are both from Canada (Ontario & Montreal), and both sellers have "0" feedback, telling that this is their first transaction on Ebay (each is a new member since June 20, 2007; each starting their auction the same day 14 minutes apart (tells us both are likely the same person); with a 3 day and a 5 day auction and different listing formats for the same guitar that they don't possess, all being a flimsy attempt at disguising two auctions of the same merchandise). "Both" these sellers could not have bought alleged #1246 since they are new members since June 20 and the original sale occurred June 9, and the June 9 buyer was from the US with all other bidders being veteran Ebay members; further the seller of #1246 gave the buyer good positive feedback on Ebay indicating that the sale was actually made (unless this diversion is part of the scam). The low starting prices $200 & $230 and short auction periods suggests they want to get rid of the item fast before anyone knows what's happened.
If Ebay does not pull these auctions they truly don't care what they sell as long as they get their taste. This is FRAUD as clear as it could ever be spelled out, and very possibly the sale of stolen property.
Everybody email ebay if possible.

Nice work on getting the vital info on the auctions. And, thanks to all who have submitted an email to eBay about this. We really need to be all over auctions when we see stuff like this.
Here is a procedure on how to report a fraud listing (please let me know if there is an easier way.. this way sucks, but it's the only way I was able to find)
1. Go to auction 2. Scroll down and click 'Report this item' 3. Click 'Faudulent listings (illegal seller demands, you didn't receive item, etc)' 4. Click 'You suspect that a listing is fraudulent you didn't bid' 5. Click 'Please click the continue button' 6. Scroll down and click 'Email us' 7. Make sure the following item number(s) are in the item box: 130126883409, 190124895445 8. Provide some info and click send
You'll need to have an eBay account to send a message
I think the more 'reports' we get into eBay, the better chance we have to bring down these auctions.

oh, admin, that was the path i used to report it as well. it almost felt like ebay didn't want to hear from me, with the effort required to find the right path. thanks for putting it out there. i almost gave up but thought it was worth a few of my minutes to bust up that loser's scam.

eric,
Good that you're keeping an eye out. That 130126883409 "ended this listing early because of an error in the listing," does not lessen what is trying to be done. They've only found a mistake in their scam and are backtracking to cover their tracks. They're still up to no good. So let's keep up whatever pressure we can apply. The retraction of the listing only adds to the scenario that is apparent, FRAUD.

Its a scam! I reported it to ebay. I won the correct auction last week, and received the guitar last 3 days ago.

halstrom505,
Good to hear from you that your Ebay purchase went well (to other members let me say that halstrom505 was the winning bidder of the original #1246 whose Ebay auction ended June 9). There has been some conversation about your auction and now this scam deceitfully involving pictures of your Bean. It becomes more clear with you checking in that the scammer originating out of Montreal, Canada, is likely using the listing of the seller of your Bean as a front to get rid of a Bean stolen in the Montreal area which was reported to this site in early June (see above).
Thanks for making the situation more clear, and congratulations on your purchase.

Hi - please if no one objects just leave the auction be, our priority right now is to recover the guitar and we will buy it back if necessary.

Any updates on this? I see that the listing is unavailable now. Were you able to verify that this is your friend's stolen guitar? Were you able to recover it?
