Looking to hang my Artist on a brick wall (this way I get to play it and stare at it all the time).
Any suggestions for a hanger? I've looked into standard "U" shaped neck mounts; most appear to have some wood in them - if I go this route I'd want something all metal to ensure it can support the weight of the guitar.
Ideally I'd like to find a solution that lets me hang the guitar from the "T" cutout - I guess I could mount 2 hooks, or find a bracket that will fit in that space.
Any suggestions, experience or opinion would be appreciated.

I hang my Bean from a brick wall using a standard "U" shape hanger. I have three different types of hangers, but my favorite for the Bean is the model that has two screws into the wall (since the guitar is so heavy). Many only have 1. The 1 screw models are strong enough, but I like the "factor of safety". I took the hanger to the hardware store and got masonry molly bolts and a masonry drill bit. It was a pretty easy job and it does make it easier to pick it up and play - plus it's the greatest conversation piece.
Another alternative is always a nice guitar stand on the floor, but I do prefer the wall hanger. Best of luck. You should be able to find something that works without too much trouble I think.

Yep. That looks plenty beefy - "holds up to 200 lbs"! With some masonry screws you should be in good shape.

Thanks for your help!
If anyone has any other suggestions regarding a custom hanger, or something that fits with the "T", please let me know.

Yea, those "off the wall" hangers are pretty good. They have 3 screws. They also allow the guitar to swing side to side which is supposed to be safer in the case of an earthquake. Although if any guitar has little to worry about in an earthquake, it's a Bean. Make sure to anchor the screws. They make special anchors for brick, I think. I used to hang and display ALL my guitars, but I got over it. Google "Captian Beefheart's 10 guitar commandments" and refer to number 9...... not a huge Beefheart fan, but makes sense to me......

like http://www.autohobbydiges.....num_guitars/TBbracket.jpg ?
this is a bracket I made out of mild steel. the pictures are terrible because there isn't much light in that room and I did it with my lousy phone camera. you get the idea. there is a single wood screw that fastens the bracket to the wall.
mild steel from Home Depot/Lowes, about $5 or so... mig welder. i could probably make some more.

very cool - I'm interested, and wouldn't need the wood block since I'd fasten it to a brick wall.
I guess there is no reason to be concerned about stress on the thin part of the "T" headstock?

thanks
