I just bought this red 1000 Standard and am wondering if it is the original paintjob. It is a darkish red with small metalflake.

I think it may not be due to the fact that I have never seen this finish on a TB, but also because I a) can see Ivory underneath some of the scratches and b) in the electronics cavity, I do not see the serial number in the standard place. Instead, I see it under the potentiometers, under the red paint.
Can anyone help me out with some info? If it is not original, I am going to refinish it. If it is original I will leave it alone. Thanks!

I'd have to say no. Just looks way too dull. Almost like someone used spray paint from a can on it.
