I have read that there were 1422 TB1000s made. Yet I have seen several above this number including my own.... does anybody know how the numbering works?

In the beginning up to around SN 1100 Artists and Standards were using the same numbers. So 950 might be and Artist and 951 might be a standard. It just depends on when they came off the line. After 1100ist the two models numbering was split. so the is a 1300 Artist and a 1300 Standard.
