Got two play two Beans and an EGC.
I played Standard 141 and Standard 1027. Both really cool guitars with real different necks. 141 is more of a Tele style neck, while 1027 is a killer Les Paul style neck.
1027 is what I'd call NOS!
The cool part of the day was getting to play EGC # 455 P. The guy said that is was a prototype.
Kevin, you make an awesome guitar. I was stunned by the neck ¦ the ultimate 62 Strat style neck. (... just a killer guitar)

Oh, Joefish, that was me with the EGC! I was bringing a few things to sell at my friend's table, and asked Kevin if he'd like to send something up for me to display. But then when I got it in, I liked it so much that I decided I should buy it. So I priced it a little too high, because I really wanted to keep it :)
Kevin's Wedges, which he's only making 15 of, are his vision of what he hoped the reissue would have been like, if it was made. I didn't realize this at first, but it's actually hollowed out from the back, somewhat, and the body on that one was actually made out of swamp ash. Others used a variety of different woods. It has its own sound, different from any other EGC or Bean I've heard.
There were some other really cool Beans at the show. Must have been like six of them there. Did you see the one nearby where I was that had that amazing knurled wood, and Travis Bean's signature etched into the back of the neck?

Joefish - Cool! I talked to so many people over the weekend that I have only vague recollections. But glad we got to say hi in any case, ha.
Peggy - Yes! Kevin makes fantastic basses, and they can be custom ordered however you like. I'd imagine fretless is easy... just leave off the last step :) His waiting list is long, but definitely worth the wait. Click on the photos section of his myspace page to see shots of a lot of different guitars he has built. There are basses in there, and even 6, 8, and 12 string basses.
