So it would not really take armageddon for prices to fall just Vincent switching to collecting Garbage Pail kids or Beanie babies. Fender and Gibson guitars are NOT holding their value in this economic down turn. You can get a 50's or 60's strat for 30% less than you could last year.

Well its been said many times before: the best guitar investment is the one you really love for whatever reason. I have a few guitars (not all beans) that I love to play and to hold and admire. I don't care what they are worth, but if I was collecting to "invest" I'm sure I would be second guessing values and agonizing about selling all the time in the current environment. Those people who bought beans or any other guitar purely as an investment deserve to sweat as far as I'm concerned. The people I feel bad for are the players who are debating selling their favorite instrument to pay their bills. That is a sad situation. However, I would distinguish between someone who is really forced to sell vs someone who is just trying to maximize their bean lottery "payoff".

I'm glad Vincent is able to afford and preserve these amazing instruments in his growing collection. I will do my part to preserve the ones I have. (a non growing collection) Hey someone needs to care for the posterity of koa standards!

I personally have witnessed my collection of Lenny and Squiggy collectibles sky rocket in value over the last few years. So I guess Vincent is not the only one who had a good year. oddly enough most of the Lenny and Squiggy stuff came out around the same time Beans were in production.

I feel that Gallo's bohemian life style prevents him from getting up early enough to participate in the commodities markets. I believe that he would be savvy enough to participate though. Luckily I moved all of my assets from oil futures to Lenny and Squiggy memorabilia before the crash. I even had David Lander sign my Wedge.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the photo on Vincent's Wikipedia page has him holding a Les Paul? :)

(Perhaps he's a Gibson collector too and I'm just uninformed.)

Vincent, you have some great squiggy qualities about you. Were you influenced by Squiggy at all when putting together your act? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__8fQh04tjo

Hi Vincent,

My name is Sam Rowe, not Paul.

What I said wasn't meant to be negative in any way and I'm sorry if you took it that way. I'd seen and liked one of your films long before I knew you were into Beans. I've even purchased some of your vinyl (again before I knew you were into Beans.)

There are only a few people on here who use their real names and I've looked them up too. Not to be creepy or weird, but just to know more about the people who are into something I'm into.

It's cool that you're into other guitars and I envy your experience. I wasn't trying to offend or insult you and I'm sorry if you took it that way. I'll go back to lurking :)

Vincent, I hold your art and the art of Lenny and the Squigtones in the highest regard. If any one has any L&S merchandise to trade I would be interested. Also I have fashioned a miniature wedge for my Squiggy doll to combine my two great passions in life. I would gladly trade an artist for a original still in the package mattel japanese squiggy doll with the reverse hands (the rarest of the rare, two known to exist, Seth Green has one but refuses to sell) so good luck finding one!
