I don't know why I remembered this just now, but does anyone remember when those TB reissues were made, there was a model known as the 'Panda Series' or something similar? It had something crazy like a bamboo leaf inlay or similar. Does anyone out there know anything about this guitar (or guitars)? Were any even sold?

I remember TB describing a special run of the '97s having custom art work from someone in Northern California, maybe SF area, with a "bear" theme. It seems like I remember it being custom body paint, but custom inlays sounds familiar too. At the time, it conjured thoughts of dancing bears, so I didn't pay close attention... it was advertised in the original press releases I think, if those are still around here.

I believe Travis had Greg Rich doing inlay work based on Stanley Mouse designs.

Yep, Stanley Mouse.

I don't remember anything having to do with bears or pandas, though. I do remember the inlay work on the TB500 having sort of a leafy vine thing goin' on though. There are probably pics of it up on flickr. I uploaded over 300 TB pics there (although some became hidden because flickr only allow you to upload 300 pics for free...).

There was also that one guy that posted here that had that TB1000S or 1000A that had custom inlay work done. He grabbed it from the TB factory and had the inlay done before the guitar was finished, and final assembly was done at the TB factory, if I recall.

If you look in the photo gallery on this site under 'other misc model' there is one with wild inlay, parakeets or something on a branch.
