Is it possible to touch up the back of the neck where the imron paint has chipped off? or should I leave it? Jake

Imron is accually used as an automotive undercoating. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal to get some from an automotive paint shop to use as touch up. All three of mine are chipped in one place or another. One was touched up befor I got it. You can still feel the touched up spots but it does look a little better. I probably won't bother on the other two. Good Luck

I would say that you'll cause more harm than good. You should leave it... or go all out.. and strip the old imron and add a new smooth coat. Just a thought.

Would stripping off all the imron and replacing it decrease the value?

I would say yes. Are the chips really bothering you? Does it affect playability? Do you plan on selling the guitar? If you aren't planning on selling the guitar, I wouldn't worry about de-valueing it. If you are collecting Beans.. then you'll have to worry about it. If the neck doesn't bother you with playability, I wouldn't worry about the neck. If it does affect your playing, then I would do it. You could refinish the neck to factory specs. Maybe with the help of some people that frequent this board who worked at the Bean factory. I'm wondering if Frank K. might have something to add to this. Anyway... good luck with your decision Koa God
