yeah i saw that too!
at first i thought the bassist was playing a wedge bass and then i saw the aluminum fretboard and egc headstock. and the guitarist had the same flying v type model - the instruments sounded great! (although it's not exactly the type of music i listen to).

could the EGCs make inroads into other streams of music (mainstream being this tune on nbc)? part of me wants that for sure, but the other part of me thinks that if Kevin decides he rather be a Sherpa or an ice road trucker, I'm already set.. I have a EGC guitar.
when I read Guitar Player's "7 Baritone guitars tested", I thought an EGC entry in this review would have cleaned house (all the entries sucked from what I gather, except the cheap-danoelectro and the Steinberger, and even those two sucked or lacked coolness).
these guys on nbc have cool guits, but the jam is a little tame.

One of the guys that plays guitar for Scott Weiland plays an EGC guitar, and he used it about a week ago when he was on Leno. That makes at least 3 EGC guitars that have been on the show now. I wouldn't be surprised if some have been on Conan as well.
I told Kevin that it's too bad no one can tell what kinda guitar these people are playing... haha

Kevin's up here in Chicago right now, and I don't think he's really checking his email / the board, so I'll answer that one for you.
The guitar player's name is Douglas Grean. I can't remember which model he plays, but there's video of him playing it right here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c1Lf8Muj8c
I -think- it's a Series One, but I might be wrong.
For the different sounds, here's what he said he used while playing that song:
EGC into a Fulltone Soul Bender right into the Traynor YBA-1 amp
During the pre-chorus it's EGC - QTRON - YBA-1
During the chorus it's EGC - Soul Bender - DD7 - YBA-1
He has a GCX and a Ground Control so all the pedals are in the controlable loops of the GCX.
